Latest African Breaking News – DRC Imposing Covid-19 Preventive Restrictions

The Democratic Republic of Congo is planning to impose stricter coronavirus measures as a huge number of new cases have been filed in past few days. The government announced restrictions would start from Friday, 18 December, 2020 with a curfew from 21:00 to 05:00. Other guidelines include school closing and public gatherings; the communications minister said schools would be closed earlier for the Christmas holidays and public gatherings of more than 10 people would not be allowed. There will also be a ban on family affairs, ceremonies before burials and other gatherings. Sports competitions will continue without fans.
